Thanks to the 50 State Quarters Program, the US Quarter has become the most collected coin in history. More than 140 million Americans collect State Quarters and the demand for Quarters is nothing short of spectacular. Of course it wasn't the same in the early days of the Standing Liberty and George Washington quarters, but it's certainly a testament to what a little marketing by the US Government can do in the 21st century.
