From 2000-2008 the US Mint produced the Sacagawea Dollars series, but changed the name to Native American Dollars beginning in 2009. All the coins have the same metal composition, including manganese, which gives the coins their golden color. The obverse design on all the coins depicts the Sacagawea profile, but beginning in 2009, the reverse design changes every year. In addition, the coins include edge-lettering for the year, mint mark and E Pluribus Unum.
