How much is my coin worth?
The most frequently asked question is also the most difficult to answer. To accurately value your coin it must be seen and examined for condition, grade and quality. As a result, we are unable to respond to any requests for values of sight unseen coins.
****************************************************************************************************
Do I need a username and password to shop on your website?
You do not need a username and password to shop at Coinland. You have the option to open an account during Checkout, which will enable you to automate your ordering, track your order history and view your shipping status.
****************************************************************************************************
How do I join your CoinClub and what are the benefits?
All it takes is a one-time purchase of any of our 4 Enrollment Packages. Once you're a member, you receive bonus points with your purchases that are automatically applied to your future orders. Bonus points save you money, so check out our CoinClub HERE.

What is a "pre-sale" item on your website?
We use the term "pre-sale" for an item such as a new National Park Quarter issue that has not yet been released by the US Mint, but that you can order from us in advance. When you include one of our "pre-sale" items in your order, we charge your credit card at the time you place your order and we ship your complete order when the "pre-sale" items arrive. Usually, shipping is expected within 4-6 weeks.
****************************************************************************************************
Where can I find your policies on shipping, returns, etc.?
All of our policies are clearly posted on our website. Just click on our TERMS OF USE link and you will find all the information you need. In addition, we provide you with all of our Terms and Conditions in a pop-up box on our Checkout form.
****************************************************************************************************
Why do you have to ship to my billing address?
This is the #1 rule for Fraud Prevention and it's not just our rule, it's also required by Visa, MasterCard, Amex, various insurance companies, etc. However, you can always list an alternate address with your card issuer and that will enable us to accommodate your request.
****************************************************************************************************
Can I pay for my order by check or money order?
If you order on our website, you must provide a credit or debit card to complete your order. However, you can send a check or US Postal Service money order for any order you submit by phone, mail or email. We need to confirm your order and cost first, so please email your items and costs as listed on our website and include your name and shipping address.
****************************************************************************************************
How long will it take to ship my order?
Unlike most dealers, we carry a large inventory, so we will usually ship your order within 1-2 business days of processing. During peak volume periods, shipping may extend to 3-4 business days. To prevent processing delays, be sure to provide your cardholder name, billing address and telephone number, exactly as they are listed with your card issuer.
****************************************************************************************************
How can I check on an order that I recently placed?
The easiest way to follow your order is to open a standard account during Checkout. You can then login anytime to check on your order status or track your package. If you do not open a standard account, you can email your request to us, but please be sure to include your order confirmation number, name and billing address. We will normally respond to your inquiry within 1 business day when you include this information.
****************************************************************************************************
Do you accept orders from outside the United States?
Currently, we accept orders from the US, US Territories and Military addresses (APO, FPO, etc). We do not accept orders from any other locations, due to cost and country restrictions on the import of coins.
****************************************************************************************************
Why am I having a problem putting items in your Shopping Cart?
Our technology department tests our website every day for potential problems. If a problem is detected, which is rare, we take our site offline until it is corrected. When our site is online, you can generally assume that a Shopping Cart problem is related to the computer you are using. There may not be sufficient memory, or your cache of temporary Internet files may be overloaded, or your web browser may be acting up. In any case, you can call us toll-free at 855-940-COIN to place your order from 8:00am - 6:00pm Pacific time Monday through Friday.
****************************************************************************************************
What's the quality of your Proof Sets and Mint Sets?
Very Good to Excellent! Since we buy and sell a whole lot of sets, we see all kinds. The good news is, you will only receive the better quality sets we find.
****************************************************************************************************
What are all those abbreviations on your website (BU, AU, MS, PCGS, etc.)?
Click the COIN INFO button in our INFORMATION area and you will find our Glossary of Coin Terms. Click there for definitions of all these terms and much, much more.
****************************************************************************************************
Why are prices so different among coin dealers for the same items?
When you shop on the Internet, you generally find a range of prices for most items. The same is true for coins, but be careful! The lowest prices usually mean low quality coins and low values. That's the #1 reason why buying coins is not like buying books or electronics. Every coin has a grade and the higher the grade, the higher the value. At Coinland, we work hard to provide you with better grade, excellent quality coins at a fair market price.
****************************************************************************************************
How can I clean my dirty coins?
Do Not Clean Your Coins! Improper cleaning will reduce the value of any coin. There are safe products and methods to clean dirty coins, but we suggest you visit a local coin dealer for assistance.

What is the Presidential Dollar Program?
In 2005, Congress passed the Presidential Dollar Coin Act, paving the way for 4 new Presidential Dollar coins each year beginning in 2007 and ending in 2016. The program commemorates deceased presidents only. The obverse of each coin depicts the image of the US President in the order he was elected. The reverse depicts an image of the Statue of Liberty. The metal composition of the Presidential Dollars is the same as the Sacagawea Dollars, which continue to be produced during the program. Beginning in 2012, the US Mint stopped producing Presidential Dollars for commercial use and began producing the coins for collectors only.
****************************************************************************************************
Why can't I find the date and mint mark on the new Presidential Dollars?
The US Mint has been able to inscribe the date, mint mark, In God We Trust and E Pluribus Unum on the edge of each Presidential Dollar. It's very difficult to read with the naked eye, so we suggest buying our special 10X folding loupe with wide-view lens AVAILABLE HERE.
****************************************************************************************************
How often do the new National Park Quarters come out?
The US Mint releases a new National Park Quarter 5 times each year. The National Park Quarters Program began in 2010 and is scheduled to continue through 2021. You can expect a new quarter release about every 10 weeks. We stock all National Park Quarters that have been released to date.
****************************************************************************************************
Can I automatically receive new National Park Quarters when they are released?
Our National Park Quarter Subscription service is available right HERE. Once you sign up, we will automatically send you each new National Park Quarter release as soon as we receive our delivery. You will be charged when we are ready to ship your coins and you may cancel at any time.

Is there an error on the Wisconsin State Quarter?
Collectors have discovered 3 different examples of cornstalks on the reverse of Wisconsin State Quarters that were produced at the Denver mint facility. Photos and descriptions of the 3 reverses are available in articles printed 2/9/05 on AOL and in USA Today.
****************************************************************************************************
Did the US Mint ever recall the North Carolina State Quarter?
Absolutely not! The Mint produced more than 1 billion of these coins and every one of them has the words First Flight on the reverse side, instead of the state motto - "First In Flight." This is not an error. It is simply the name of the photograph that's depicted on the coin.

What is this I've heard about new 2009 Lincoln cents?
Congress authorized 4 new Lincoln cent designs for 2009 honoring the 200th Anniversary of Lincoln's birth. In addition to 4 reverse images depicting different stages of Lincoln's life, the metal composition of the coins is identical to the original 1909 Lincoln cent. In 2010, the US Mint changed the reverse image on the Lincoln cent, replacing the Lincoln Memorial with the "union shield" which will continue to adorn the reverse in the future.

I have a two-headed or two-tailed coin. Am I rich?
Several years ago the first and only two-tailed quarter error was discovered, but your chances of winning the lottery are far better than finding another double sided US Mint error. Instead, you almost certainly have a novelty coin, which we sell for just a few dollars. Drop the coin on a table and compare the sound to a regular coin. You will hear the answer for yourself.

Why can't I find a 1975 quarter, half dollar or Ike dollar?
Actually, there aren't any 1975 or 1976 dated Washington quarters, Kennedy half dollars and Ike dollars. In honor of the nation's bi-centennial celebration, the US Mint produced all three of these coins for two years with the unique dual date of 1776-1976.
